In a murky world full of sinister darkness and fallen angels, we rose above the shadowy clouds and our wings found light.  Now many would think to run towards it, bathing in the radiant illumination of souls redeemed, but not we three, anymore than all the others who had risen before only to fail to understand the beauty of joy so destroyed were their souls by abuse.  Buoyant with the knowledge that there was a path not taken but open to all, we returned to the treachery of our sinister pasts over and over again in our minds.

Into our murky actions and sordid lives we sank, re-immersing ourselves in misery so thick that we thought we might drown, but all was not lost.

In times that were often bleak for those struggling to find out who they were and etch a place in this world, we’d found friendship.   Amongst the ashes of our lives, we’d found hope.  Engulfed by fear, we faced overwhelming odds and beat the table. 

                       We were not crushed. 

                                           We were not overcome. 

We did not capitulate to what the world had destined for us.  We rose above and took our lives back. Now we want to shine a beacon for those who came before but were left behind, those who will inevitably come after.
